Our Story

JACOB & TIFFINEY'S DREAM COME TRUE!

     We would like to thank you for taking the time for looking into our facility.  We have been married since 2009 and have two boys, "Karsten & Myles" and one girl "Georgia". Together we have loved and raised beautiful Chesapeake’s. We adopted a rescue dog that is a Jack Russell Terrier mix named "Foxy" in 2016.  She is a hunter and loves bringing us special treats.  In 2020 we were able to get "Sir Grand Crawfish" call name "Nevis" who is an amazing Chesapeake.  In his 1st seven months of life received 8 titles.  He currently holds the following titles:  CGC, CGCA, CGCU, TKN, TKI, TKA, UKC SPOT, UKC & AKC RO1 titles.  In 2021 we flew to New York and drove to "Willowcreek Chesapeake's" to get our newest family member "Willowcreek's Grand Itasca" call name "Juna".  She is showing huge interest in birds.  April 2022 we attended Cheesie Days in Cambria, WI where both dogs received their "Farm Dog" titles.  Juna also received her "Canine Good Citizen/CGC".  We look forward to seeing what adventures lie ahead for all our dogs.  Both Nevis & Juna are already Champions in the UKC!  They also are Alliance Therapy dogs and have enjoyed visiting nursing homes and reading with children at schools.  Juna was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer 9/7/23 and she is currently doing well.

 Dogs are a huge passion for our entire family!  

      We have always had a dream of owning our own business.  After many prayers we decided to take a huge leap of faith in the autumn of 2016. Tiffiney resigned from her career of 7 1/2 years and we decided to follow our hearts desires to open a business that involved the care of animals.  That's when the idea of "Itasca Dog Lodge" was formed.  After talking to other boarding facilities and many dog owners we started taking the steps to building the lodge.  Jacob designed and has built the lodge alongside some really great people who gave their skills and talents. 

     The Bartz family is excited about “Itasca Dog Lodge” and look forward to taking care of your fur babies and will treat them as our own.  We want you to feel at peace knowing that your dog is safe, comfortable and having a FUN time while you are away!!
